Logline |||
Two motherless children must choose between their father’s forbidden
paradise and the wild call of their true nature, in a 4-minute poetry film
retelling the fairy tale.

Synopsis |||
This is not a fair tale. Once upon a time, two motherless children,
a girl and a boy, lived in their father’s paradise. This gift came with
one restriction, never to leave this place. Now, who could possibly
desire more from life than happily ever after in this heavenly home?
Unless, of course, you hear the calling of true nature, see stars in
the wild and taste the unknown on the tip of your tongue.

Blessed Unrest is a call to give in to
‘queer divine dissatisfaction’, as Martha Graham calls it.

Luscious, sensual stills by filmmaker Oliwia Tado come to life through
richly textured spoken words by Meij Gommers.

Blessed Unrest is a timeless coming-of-age story weaving archetypical narratives
into a contemporary magic carpet.

This poetry film is a memento mori to
cease the day, a bedtime story to wake up.
This one might just end well for a change.
